Gun hunts take place the first two weeks of December and the first week of January and include 5 full days of hunting. Bring the warm stuff as these hunts can have temperatures down to and even below zero, but cold temperatures and a little snow are every hunter’s dream this time of year. The good news is the deer are done with the love-struck wandering and are focused on food to build up their condition to make the long winter more bearable and we use that to our advantage. We plant acres of winter food plots and strategically buy crops to leave standing to make sure hunters have plenty of action. Most evenings are spent hunting food plots from box blinds while mornings might be over food or on a stand in a bottle neck taking advantage of late season travel patterns. We normally have 2-3 hunters per guide and try to average 8 gun hunters in camp for each season.
Over the years we have had success rates as low as 50% and as high as 100% with the average year being about 78%. The average buck brought into camp has scored 144 over the years with our largest buck scoring 206 gross B&C. Regardless, we feel confident that every property we hunt will have bucks from 150 to over 170 on them during the gun seasons and do everything we can to put our hunters in the right place at the right time.
These are muzzleloader or shotgun hunts only and if you have an in-line muzzleloader there are no restrictions on guns or optics.

FREE RANGE REFUND POLICIES:
We have two policies that affect the final cost of your hunt.
1) If you do not harvest or wound an animal as determined by our staff we will refund $1,500 of your hunt cost.
2) If you successfully harvest a buck scoring over 140 gross B&C or P&Y, we will refund $1,000 of your hunt cost. This is done to encourage our hunters to focus on harvesting mature bucks and giving the younger bucks a chance to mature
